ParticipantSorry in advance, this is a bit of a long question.
About 3 weeks ago I inherited the above fridge freezer from a friend who Said when the room gets hot it starts playing up.
Wanting a fridge freezer that was going Free to a Good home, I said I would take it home. I got it in my house and allowed it to stand for 2 hours before plugging it in.
I set the temperature dial to number 2 (out of 4 + super on the dial) plugged it in and the thing burst into life – Great I thought. The radiator on the back was starting to get warm so I thought great.
A week of so ago I notices a rhythmic clicking from what sounds like a relay behind the thermostat and an on/off flashing from the bulb in the fridge. This stops after about an hour and the compressor then starts up as normal but the Super light was flashing and a rhythmic dimming of the fridge light.
I switched it off at the wall and let it settle down before switching it back on. It clicked 2 or 3 times starting the compressor briefly with each click. After about 10 minutes the compressor starts and runs happily as expected.
All the food in the Freezer was frozen solid as expected but measuring the temperature using a room thermometer the fridge is not getting much below about 10 degrees (room temp about 22 degrees).
All went well with no problems for about 5 days before the super light flashing again with the compressor working as expected, the fridge still being at about 10 degrees.
I did some Googling and I read check the evaporator coil from excess ice, makes sense as this would point to the defrost element failing. Unplugging it I took the draws out the freezer section and took the back panel off. There was only a light frost of the evaporator which disappeared after about 40 minutes of being exposed to the warm room air so I assume the defrost eliminate is working.
I also read to make sure the fan that I assume blows cool are around the freezer was working. I can hear the faint whirr along with the compressor so I assume that is working.
There is condensation on the back wall of the fridge section. Someone suggested turning the thermostat up to No4. After about an hour the droplets of condensation on the back of the fridge wall had started to freeze but the temperature still read just under 10 degrees.
Am I not using this Fridge Freezer correctly? Am I overloading it which is causing the flashing Super indicator to flash?
Sorry to sound stupid but prior to this I used a separate fridge (with icebox) and a small chest freezer and didn’t have any problems.

Just come back from shopping to Click Click Click.. What does this mean, what is it trying to do?
Am beginning to think it is time to replace the board. Has anyone done this? Is it difficult to do?
I have heard of stories of the cables are too short to come out with the board therefore making it very tricky to fix.
Andy advise welcome

Hi there, sorry in the VERY long delay in getting back. . I ended up having a company in to change the PCB – this cost about £50 fitted. Its lasted a couple of years and I think the warm weather is getting to it again as the compressor is running more than expected.
