We couldn’t install on a site due to short notice and already being committed to other work so the company that needed it done had to call in outside help. I was frankly shocked at this, to get them to install some appliances in a new build…
£60 plus VAT to attend then £30 per hour (or part thereof) excluding VAT in labour thereafter and that was the commercial rate for the firm in question. But the classic was that they required payment in advance before attending by credit or debit card or they just didn’t want to know about it.
The charges will make them about 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} (at least) more expensive on a basic oven/gas hob/hood installation than we would be dependant on the plot and the number of appliances to be installed. Plus they get paid up front!!!
