    Been to this anomaly today with an F05 fault reported by customer, 1 1/2 yrs old!
    No blockage in pressure tube or pipe to tub.
    sump and pump clear, pressure switch has resistance so suspect that ok.
    It won’t turn on/off by button- only socket switch, there’s no programme selection, but sometimes is for a few seconds then stops!
    Sometimes no display at all.
    Erm- what else. Customer reported it tripped the electrics, machine got very hot. Checked heater, resistance and meggered ok, disconnected heater & motor- still no difference.
    Main and programme module show no signs of damage.

    I’ve no idea what the hell a WMXTF is but a clue as to what may be wrong is in your last sentence. 😉

    Is 1 1/2 years old not under warranty?
    If so, surely you will earn more kudos by referring them back to the manufacturers to save them money?

    I assumed the warranty is only for one year, I did advise them to contact hotpoint and see what they could offer, likely a plan for £100 that would provide the repair and a further years warranty as I suspect its the main board.
    The model is a WMXTF942 Martin!
