this old Hotpoint HC60990 was brought in for repair, unfortunately the hoses are perished and the pump has snapped off.

love to know the age, i have offered it to our local museum.

I think they were referred to as a Hotpoint Princess made around 1957 ‘ish?

Spookily enough the only ‘stock item’ I have left to fit these gems is the lid latch retaining clips! Well you never know when they might come in handy do you? :rolls:

Just think, Jim (Iadom) was sitting his 11 plus at the time…destined in later years to fixing them.:rolling:

It’s a shame you could not fix it. Tomorrow I will be putting new bearings in a Hotpoint 95130. It was one of the first machines I worked on when I started in 1998 and still going strong 😀

Imagine what that £56 is equivalent to today( about 10 times an average wage ) and you can see why we have such rubbish to work on now 🙁
Probably would be around the price of a mid range Miele.

Strange one that, have to admit I have not seen one of them. Not a Princess, the Princess was a hand wringer but it also had a small bank of push button switches along the front as you can just make out in the E-Bay offering.

If Ken puts a bid in I will collect it. 😀

    Jim.
