Another Successful Conference

Thanks to all that were there and especially to the WTA team that make all this possible.

Whilst Lawrence and myself are the ones that are on stage it would be bought without the huge amount of help and support that we get from everyone else that aren’t in the spotlight’s glare as it were.

We think that the new AV and stage arrangement, whilst way more expensive, is worth it as by all accounts and what we saw and heard it was vastly superior to what we’ve had before.

And, the general sentiment is, all that effort has and is paying off.

I know that a number of you have benefitted from finding some new spares suppliers.

I also know that there were a number of members interested in repairing the Smiths heating equipment (http://smithsep.co.uk) about which I’m sure there will be more on in here in due course.

There’s also another lead on repairs for something a little different that has come up. More on that over the coming weeks… stay tuned.

The big one of course was the announcement of the Heath Check and the WTA registration scheme and we know that some of you are desperate to crack on with that so here’s what you need to do for the time being to make sure you’ve got a head start for it…

Make sure that you are on the engineer search!

Search for yourself, see if you’re there.

If you are, get access. It’s tagged to the email that you used to register, if you’ve changed your email you may lose the access that you had as that is the unique identifier used.

This is where you control all that you do, where you do it and so forth. I strongly advise that you keep it up to date.

This is integrated to the engineer search on UKW, the WTA website and to rapport for those that use rapport. So basically, if anyone searches for a repairer, health check or registration on any of the sites, this is the engine and where all the details that are used are held. Hence the importance of it being kept up to date.

All the guidelines and so on for the Health Check will be published in the near future, we’ve still got some bits and bobs to round out on that but, it’s 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} there.

The service is live and will be promoted as soon as we’re all ready to do that, which includes getting the members all to show up on the search.

A very enjoyable couple of days spent at the Ramada Wolverhampton. It was good to see so many new faces and be able to catch up with old friends over a few beers.

Well done Lawrence, Ken and all the team for another successful WTA conference. If you were not there this year you missed out on a lot.

The amount of work you guys on the WTA team put in organising the day ensuring it runs smoothly is incredible and at the same time running your own businesses!! Mustn’t forget the front of house ladies Tina, Tracey and Valerie for a smooth check in.

As usual the topics covered on the Friday by Ken and Lawrence were both humorous and informative as were the guest speakers.

Judging by the amount of suppliers and distributors displaying, a bigger venue may be in order next year.

It gets bigger and better each year and could save Independent’s a lot of money if they are able to attend and also lots of work on offer.

Even though I have retired I am still glad I attended to see the show and friends.

That’s because only 10 wanted it then it increased to 15 which meant we had to wait for people to finish to get the group seating..Same as the buffet only 10 but 23 then wanted it within an hour or so..

lesson learnt.. Advise earlier so that things can be organised.

Only joking Bryan, it was a very enjoyable Thursday/Friday, well done to all involved.

And the events I witnessed on Sunday at Wembley made it a perfect weekend. 8)
