    Hello,

    I have a Whirlpool Generation 2000+ oven G2P 62F/SS.
Last weekend, I switched on the oven (fan ran ok) but after about twenty minutes I realised that there was no heat at all coming from the oven although the first “arrow” light at the top left of the display was on.
The grill works fine so I have assumed that it is the central element that is faulty. I appreciate that it could also be the thermostat. How could I check to find out which one is faulty. I don’t want to buy an element and a thermostat (cost!) if it is only one item that is faulty.
Can anyone advise me on this matter.
    best regards,

In most cases, a visual examination of the element will reveal obvious damage, it will appear distorted or the casing will have split.

First isolate the oven from the mains then inside the oven there will be a plate at the back that you should be able to remove to allow you to see the element. If it has no obvious signs of damage it will need testing with a meggar/multimeter to confirm its status.

I would say that element failure is far more likely than stat failure.

    Jim.
