I’ve got a seal to fit to a new Hotpoint washing machine.
It has antimicrobic stamped on it.
Please tell me that this isn’t the future???Brushless motors & non blackening door seals…

They are not the first to claim similar. Announcement from 2013: “Like any Haier washing machine, the Intelius comes equipped with Smart Antibacterial Treatment (ABT®)”. Admittedly, Haier do tend to be at the forefront in white goods technology…

At last an end to mouldy door boots. Free at last from customers complaining the door boot you fitted last month’s gone black. Free at last! Free at last! Thank god for Hotpoint, free at last! 😈

I wish I could say the same, Martin from someone that has youngsters still growing up at home and the enormous costs involved. I think Tim falls into that category too.
Wonder what the virtually retired Martin would say 35 years ago…….. “thank God those pesky Bendix ‘E’ springs and Indesit L5 pumps are no more – good income stream but hey, no biggie” – who needs money eh? Also advising the public to buy cheap disposable machines; whatever questionable merit there may be in that, also helps the demise of your fellow engineers. No problem when you can look down from a comfortable position solely due to the period you started in the industry when it was easy to make a substantial amount of money at this and seem insensitive towards the folks still trying to make a living today from this trade against all odds.
Facetious, joking or insensitivity aside, I’m sure you have your tongue firmly in your cheek; at least I would hope your post was ironic and not meant as it was read. If not move your tongue a little to make space for your foot. :rolls:
