ParticipantHi all, hope someone can help with this one. We’re after an american style fridge freezer, but have a small concern over freezer space. The space should be sufficient if there is no ice maker or water chiller taking up room, so we’ve discounted any of these. However we would like a water chiller (not plumbed in) and have seen this feature on a couple of Samsung’s. Now I know there are some bad stories about Samsung, although like everything else, no-one praises good stuff so you only hear about the bad, however they do seem to fit the bill as have a water chiller you fill from the tap. Just wondered if anyone knows of similar feature in any other manufacturers at all as can’t see any! Many thanks.

is the only one i can find
as for the samsung ‘problems’ the consumer rights brigade seem to inundate us with, the problem isnt exactly pandemic, most things break down, the breakdown figures from samsung suggest less than a 2{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} breakdown rate, which is pretty low compared to other manufacturers, merloni being one of them
personally, i wouldnt buy a samsung fridge freezer, but thats not cos theres a lot of problems, i just think there are better appliances out there
i take your point about the freezer space
and i would say that the whirlpool ones that store the ice in the door cavity seem to have a lot more freezer space
i have an lg american style, and i love it.. its 18 mths old now and not a murmer from it, but then theres only 2 of us here and we arent overly bothered about freezer space
oh, and the word beko should be taken as a warning notice, not a name, steer well clearhope this helps

Thanks for the info – I think that model and the one we’ve seen are practically identical. We saw a RS21 WCNS I think, and that one is a WASM. Any idea what the model number codes mean?
I agree on the breakdowns – as I said in my original post, you only ever hear about the bad times!
We’ll have a look at Whirlpool but even so, might stick with a non-plumbed one anyway.
Any more finds gratefully received.
