Hi, Just scouting the net to see if there was any tips on getting my belt on my washer and came across this web site. I have a Tricity Bendix AW1100 S machine and the old belt has frayed and fallen off. I got a new belt for it and its about an inch shorter. It is really a tight fit and to top it off the back off the washer does not come off. Any advice would be appreciated. Gavin.

The cabinet spits in half – essential to fit belt, as there is insufficient access otherwise. Once apart, the belt simply winds on.

    Power off, of course.

Thanks although i have managed to squeeze it on, you should see the state of my arms. 🙁 New problem now though. Now the drum isn’t turning at all when i put a wash sequence on. I am thinking it may be the carbon bushes, so i took them out to inspect them and they still have 2cm on them, the question is will that be enough with it having to work harder because it has a new belt on? Thanks for taking the time to help. Gavin.

ZEM/SOLE motor on this one, so check this:

Brush length is more than adequate – belt makes no difference to the motors ability to run. You will need a multimeter to check for continuity through the various motor circuits. Assuming all is OK, it is quite possible for the disintegrating belt to damage the wiring loom feeding the motor.
