Participantbeen back to repair a dishwasher for a customer and her 6 year old rangemaster classic 90 induction has been playing up all of a sudden,
first of all it was e4’ing on the centre 2.3kw plate.
then about 10 days later its e4’ing also on the front right 1.4 plate.
anyway, as it was last job today i said id have a look at it, and managed to guage these things…
= e4 is loss of communication (thanks google)
= if you swap the potentiometers over that the knobs are on, it doesnt make any difference.
= if you swap the big IHE from the left that is known working to the centre, you still get e4 flash in the centre position, but you also get the “pan not on hob” error flash where the dodgy IHE had been swapped to.
= same happens if you do that with the 2 smaller IHEs
= Checked all tags and wiring for damage. cant see any.
= there are 3 power modules on the RHS underneath the hob, one does the LHS large and small IHEs, one does the centre large IHE only, and the last does the RHS large and small IHE. so in theory would the fact the RHS large IHE doesnt e4 (yet) but the RHS small IHE does e4, mean that its not likely to be the power modules, as if it was, both RHS IHE’s would e4?
= no signs of module burnouts on either the centre triange module, or the single 3inch square one mounted just behind the knobs/potentiometers
Can anyone advise what to do next?
Connect list a service and return kit, any ideas whats exactly in them and is there a known issue? I note in connects images the ego-codes are 75.08010.102 and 75.08010.202, and the ones on the back of the IHEs in the cooker are 75.08010.101 and 75.08010.201 so is this the usual superceding of obsolete parts ?
cheers guys!!! sorry for the novel!July 30, 2014 at 10:56 pm #417245Alanj

Hi gandh1, I had same sort of problem with Rangemaster Élan 90 last week. Have you tried reconfiguring the IHE’s? Depending on your model and serial number. I’ll send you some info by email. Also, I called Rangemaster technical and they are very helpful.
