KeymasterYou know this trade is just so apathetic about stuff it really pisses me off at times.
This morning’s classic example is the DASA list, I go off and extract all the mail addresses and collate them into a nice text file, only to find that loads of them are fecking useless!! 😕
How on earth do these people expect to be able to stay informed by DASA or anyone else if they don’t update their information. I mean, would they change their phone numbers and not tell anyone as well? Plonkers!!! 🙄
The worst part of it is, I’m supposed to be helping Scott get the communications to be better so that’s now looking like it’s going to be an uphill struggle in two ways, getting Scott to listen to what I’m telling him and getting members to extract the digit from their own arses. 🙁

ParticipantI dont envy your job Ken, as a new DASA member I have attended the last two meetings and quite frankly the whole thing needs a f****** good shake up.
It is like something out of the dark ages.I agree with its aims etc and we need its support to launch the network on, but I think the man at the top is badly out of touch.
If this attitude remains, they will not attract new members never mind new business for us 😥
It took me three years to become a member! and it was only my persistance chasing them and Kevins assistance that resulted in me parting with nearly £700. Nice work if you can get it!

KeymasterYep, more or less echos my thoughts on DASA of late as well and I know I’m not alone in feeling that way about it.
To be fair though, there are some council members hell bent on shaking it up a bit. 😉

I’ve been saying there’s been a lot of apathy in the trade for 2 years now,This site and what you have done Ken should bring it back off it’s knees.
It’s already working .The Network group and the Whitegoods group made a normal DASA council meeting look like last years AGM. I can’t wait for the AGM to see how many people turn up.😆 Congratulation and a pat on the back to everyone involved.

KeymasterI’ve said time and again that, okay maybe I do push it a bit and drive people to get involved a bit more, but at the end of the day it’s up to them. They make it work or not work, not me, i just give them the tools and hopefully a bit more of a voice than they had.
The idea was to build a community within the trade to allow everyone to speak and pass information, be that technical or business and it appears to be working. The problem is that it is a lot of work to keep driving it and keeping it going until it takes on a life of its own which it is doing slowly but surely.
My problem is now that I’ve gotten sucked further and further into it all! 😕
