KeymasterHi, the front glass has exploded outwards for unknown reasons. Out of warranty by 3 years, never had a problem so far. Did notice it was taking longer to heat up. Any advice on how to proceed?
can I get a quote for new glass? Many Thanks

Hi Sam
The glass will have broken because pressure has been applied to it…it is usually toughened glass so when it breaks it will catastrophically shatter into small pieces.
You need to ascertain what has put pressure on it and rectify that before you replace the glass….you say it was not heating up as quickly which might suggest the hinges are faulty preventing the door from sealing correctly. Often this will cause the outer glass to ‘catch’ somewhere near the bottom. Some models have built in coil type springs in the hinges which can break, unwinding their tension and hitting the glass from the inside.
If you post the make, model number and serial number then others can tell you the part numbers and cost of the parts.March 3, 2005 at 8:41 am #127552admin

Hi guys – trying to find a replacement front glass to Hygena electric oven APL 2124. Dimensions H140 x W598 x D495mm. I belive the serial number is on the glass that exploded. Could you tell me if this part is available?
Many Thanks

KeymasterYes it is, the glass visor (glass to the front of the unit) is part number 002090069 and is priced at £10.50 excl. VAT & carriage. This is the glass only, it does not include the holders.
If you need it ordered just email spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and we can deal with it for you. Probably not till the start of the week now right enough.
