APM 6325 Fridge Problems

Hi all,

We have an MFI APM 6325 Fridge and guess what?? yes it has a frost buildup at the back and the motor seems to be on all the time.

What can I check to be sure what the problem is? the seal at the bottom is a little tatty but doesn;t look too bad, the milk is cold but not frozen.

There seems to be ventilation room at the bottom over the wooden plinth as the fridge overhangs this and I can see the vents.

Any ideas?? also who to call for servicing if it is required and how much this will likely cost.

If the compressor is running continuously then the most likely thing at fault is the thermostat, although any air getting in through the seal will not help that at all. If you get hot air into a fridge and, by hot I mean room temperature, it will mean that the machine has to work harder to cool the cavity and it can lead to frosting problems.

A thermostat to replace in most of them aren’t too bad price wise but Dave will have to check it for you as I haven’t got access to the information here.

Thermostat part number 526012100 is £18.59 inc VAT and delivery, if you need one ordered drop me an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and I can arrange for you.

The seal isn’t too bad either, 406014800 at £22.22 inc.

hi,

Can you read off the lable hidden by salad baskets the type of gas (refrigerant) and advised me on the size, shape and uniformity of the ice build up.

If you are happy there is airflow for condensor coil cooling, please take a minute to consider dust and the cooling fan that should be running. If the fan stops you will get this fault, as airflow restriction on the coils will give this fault too.

What more can you advise.
