    Hi

I’m assuming the thermostat has failed as the fridge part of the fridge-freezer continually went from very cold to completely thawed over a couple of weeks. After defrosting the whole thing the compressor ran for a long while and cooled properly, then stopped finally.

Turning the thermostat doesn’t give any sign of it trying to switch. Does this sound like the thermostat and is there a way of bypassing it see that the compressor is okay. Happy to buy thermostat from you if this is the answer.

    thanks

It does sound like it to be honest.

There is no safe way to bypass the thermostat so we cannot advise on this. A standard continuity check on the thermostat will prove whether it is faulty or not.

Power off at all times when checking of course :zap:

The thermostat is 45X0639 priced at £59.44 inc VAT and delivery, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk if required.

    Dave.
