APM 6825 Integrated Fridge Freezer

I have had a APM6825 from MFI for 2.5 years and a strange thing has happened (sound familiar?).

The fridge appears to be functioning fine (in fact a small amount of ice particles on the back plate of the fridge compartment) but recently certain shelves in the freezer have been defrosting while others are still frozen!? I had an engineer out today and he said that wasn’t possible and that the whole thing wasn’t getting cold enough. Could anybody shed any possible light on this? Is it me?

Although very unusual it isn’t impossible.

Do a thorough defrost of the whole unit for 48 hours and see what it’s like after that, come back and let us know how you get on please 😀

Did as you suggested and defrosted over the weekend. Fired it back up yesterday morning and seems to be working OK now.

I will keep an eye on it and if it happens again soon will let you know.

Hi Confused of Portsmouth,

I have the same fridge/freezer and whilst the fridge is still working fine, the freezer has developed some problem in the last couple of days. It’s only operating at -5 degrees. Have you had any more problems since you defrosted it? Should I try the same? How do I know if it was the sealing strip or the unit is needs fixing?… Thanks.
