ParticipantThis is an integrated autowasher from Merloni. Spin problem…. Set it to spin, does the tumble/distribute routine, clicks forward one position, does a couple more spins and distributes, one final distribute, then drops back to wash speed.
Have:
Meggared heater – fine.
Disconnected heater entirely – no spin.
Changed 1230J5 belt for new 1220J5 (Well, you want it tight) – no spin.
Loaded it with towels and run rinse and spin – no spin.
Replaced PCB (546060201) with one from my favourite PCB repairer – no spin (Exactly the same symptoms).
Meggared motor – fine.Help……
Chris.

Chris – Is this the one with the display? If so I have had this fault when the facia board is duff.

dont want to state the obvious but you have not mentioned the air bell…… have had the odd timer (516010301) related no spin fault but sounds like a dead cert module problem to me.

Hi Mike.
I replied to this last night, hit post and the site went off-line…… again. It’s the “M” word, I tell you.
Yes, basic inolreM/sivreS timer/module set up. Bear in mind that the only direct timer function is to lock and unlock the door – otherwise, the PCB is analysing the switch combinations to get its programming. Set it to “Spin” and the computer selects its spin sequence, so after start, it’s running software, not switches. It’s doing my head in…….

I think this is a very exceptional case when something is that bad that it causes P45 a headache. I think you should sell them an ISE or something and uplift the offending machine, give it a little bit of space next to the landcrab and peck at it when you have a free moment. Certainly not worth getting in a flap over.

OMG….exactly the fault I have had recently with the same machine!! I have a APM8552 in the workshop with faults that started with no spin. Refurb PCB from Tony, spin problem still there. Removed the plugs from the module, tweaked each connector to tighten the plugs, problem solved. 😀
Spoke too soon, of course, this is a Servis machine! Spin is now OK and the machine now boils the clothes on any setting. 😯 Thought it could only be the thermistor, as the heater tested out perfectly. Tried a new thermistor, no different. So I tried a replacement PCB (now I know why Tony was out of stock Chris!), and it’s still boiling up. 👿
I just pulled it in the workshop as I couldn’t spend any more time on it in the home.
I tested everything on the heater circuit again and found no evidence of a fault. Tightened all the edge connectors again and it now seems to control the temperature correctly. Phew!!Then the drum shaft seal starts screaming like a banshee on the final spin…………why couldn’t all those faults have happened at the same time and the world could have been relieved of another Servis washer. :angry4:
Just about to give up trying on this machine…….it’s telling me something………… 🙁
Steve.
