ParticipantHi folks,
I have an integrated Schreiber APP 6302 Larder.
I recently replaced the lower left door hinge.
The problem now is the door doesnt stay shut, well it does but the slightest tug and it opens. A couple of times I’ve found the door sitting open.
The hinges look fine, it’s like the magnetism of the door seal has weakened and is not holding the door shut. Is this the problem.
I’ve read elsewhere on the forum that a new door can be purchased.
Another thing I’ve noticed is the bottom of the larder fills up with stagnant water (ugh). Whats causing this to happen.
Is it worth fixing or is it time for a new unit ?
Any advice appreciated…. thanks

I would have replaced both hinges as they generally wear evenly TBH.
Most likely other hinge pulling door ajar.
As for stagnant water, I would check that the drain hole at the bottom rear of the fridge wall isn’t clogged at top and bottom.Greg

You will need to “rod” the hole in question with something like, say a pipecleaner or equivalent at the fridge end; and then check that its clear at the drain end above compressor at rear.

ok I’ll give it a go. It must be blocked since the water is there.

Yup, it all drains down to bath above compressor/motor and the heat of that evaporates it away 😀

and you think I need a new top hinge rather than replacing the seal to keep the door shut.

Well I can’t see it for one 😉
Usually all hinges on a problematic cavity are changed as the norm.
I can only guide and suggest 😀Greg
