    Hi guys,

I’m wondering what your opinion is on appliance insurance.
    Is it worth it?
I’ve recently discovered your site and have had a nose around your (very useful and informative) articles. I’ve come to understand that it pays to invest in more expensive appliances. I wish i’d have found you before I did my appliance shopping.

In any case, seeing that I have pretty new appliances- a Zanussi washing machine (2 years old), Beko condensor dryer (3 months old) Electriq fridge (3 months old) Liebherr freezer (10 years old) and Bosch oven (3 months old) which, after reading all I could on this site- I don’t have too much confidence in their quality. I currently have D & G insurance on all of them. My question is, is it worth paying for them? Am I wasting my money?
In future I think I would definitely invest in more expensive appliances simply for their reliability. But for now, should I carry on paying appliance insurance? I think it is definitely worth it for peace of mind, but I’m interested in hearing the opinions of professionals as well as other consumers.

    Thanks in advance!

its all down to cost, and luck
if the appliances go wrong and you have paid insurance you win, if they dont go wrong you lose

the question is does the cost of the insurance give you peace of mind

    Hi.

Thanks for the responses. I’m thinking I might just be better off putting aside the monthly costs of insurance and if anything breaks down, I should use these funds to pay for repair/replacement.
    I am rather confused!
