ParticipantHello, help/advise welcome, highly appreciated:
we are building a new kitchen and need: (as well as other stuff I already sourced)
– single built-in oven
– electric, ceramic hob to match 60cm (we have no gas)
(anyone can adise on whether induction or simple electric is better? – we are not cooks, running costs are immaterial)
– extractor hood 60 cm
– fridge freezer: built in with largest possible freezer part 50/50
Questions:
1) for the oven+hob we considered GORENJE Classico – anyone heard of any problems with them??
2) hood: extraction on max setting 600 plus cumtr (it is kitchen/sitting room – so large area) any suggestions? around £400 range;
3) am really stuck for integrated fridge freezer: here is my ideal spec.
HUGE freezer part; dual control or dual compressor; 4 boxes in freezer; frost free fridge and auto defrost freezer; 2 x fridge salad crisper; reversible doors; doors to open 180 degrees; low dB. We are not in the league for Miele or Bosch am afraid – would love a middle range pricewise.
if anyone out there could help, I’d be grateful;
thank you in advance, missi
p.s. this is the most informative – and funny! -web-site on the subject – someone had done a huge amount of research THANK YOU!! for long time tried to find out where XY kitchen fitters/manufacturers get their appliances from – you gave a full list! BRILLIANT!June 13, 2016 at 5:37 pm #438545don

Hi
Oven for the same amount as I am seeing the Gorenje for a Bosch would be better for the money unless you are trying to achieve the country look.
If you have enough electrical capacity I would look at an induction hob, much safer to use, cheaper to run but you will need to have ferrous oxide bottomed pans.
Bosch and Neff both produce hoods which can cope with that sort of capacity, for something stylish the Neff D36E49S0GB would be a good choice.
You will probably end up compromising on something on the fridge freezer. You either go for Liebherr which will probably give you all you need but at a price or you look at Hotpoint, Gorenje and Whirlpool machines. The nearest I know of is the Hotpoint HRF3114UK.
HTH 🙂

thank you so much Don! super reply, the Hotpoint I shortlisted, so did the Gorenje NRCI4181CW 50-50 (not a retro model!); we very much are for the country look hence the Gorenje -classico range; I shall check out the hood; Thank you!
