    Hi there, I’m new to this forum so thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer…also apologies in advance for sounding potentially quite stupid. I know nothing about washing machines and my other girl housemates don’t either!

    I have the above washing machine and last night it started to flash up with Error F05. It appears to happen about half way through the cycle. I’ve sreached the error code and believe it means there might be a problem with the filter being blocked or the pressure switch?

    I checked the filter (at the front) and managed to retrieve a coin from it, but then tried to run a cycle again and same problem occured. I called Hotpoint earlier and they told me to check the pressure switch which apparently is located on the pipe leading into the machine. Is this correct? Only as far as i can see from other posts most people say its inside the top of the machine? Also once i find it, what am i looking for?

    Is the machine emptying correctly or does it still have water in the drum?

    there will be an obstruction somewhere….

    more than likely in the neck of the sump wrapped around that damned eco ball
