ParticipantHello,
I have recently purchased a new Hotpoint Aqualtis AQXXL129, and it has worked fine for a day. Today, I loaded some clothes to be washed, and started the machine. It seemed to start fine, as it made a noise and started taking water in, but it never got round to spinning. After taking the water in, it simply ejected it from the drum, and sent it down the drain.
I have tried it with other programmes, and the same is true. The machine just either sits there taking water in, in which case nothing else happens, or takes the water in, and simply sends it down the drain again. Is there anything I can do remedy the problem.
Thank you.

Yep, I’ve phoned them and they will be sending an engineer around on monday, but I just wanted to see if I could get some information on if theres anything I could do myself.

I really don’t think you can to be honest. In fact if it’s not listed in the self help fault finding/troubleshooting part of your user guide then best wait for an engineer visit.
Let us know how you get on and what the problem was …OK? 🙂

Yeah, I suppose there is little I can do. Sure, I’ll reply on Monday and post what the problem was.

Drain hose hasn’t slipped down and just syphoning water out is it?Yep, I checked to make sure it wasn’t syphoning, and it isn’t. The engineer from Hotpoint came round today, and said that they will be replacing the machine. I wasn’t there to see him, but apparently, he says theres something wrong with the circuit board, causing the machine to take in water and simply dump it back into the drain.
(Sorry for the late reply)

Ah…… Indesit electronics. There’ll be a blown triac on the PCB, causing simultaneous pump and fill. This will be a carry over from the previous range of PCBs, which were prone to exactly the same problems.
Good luck,
