ModeratorOne for the Hotpoint lads. 😉
Went to this 13 month old machine today, one with the full works digital display.
Showing F2 ( motor jammed or Tacho off) but at the same time, scrolling across the display it said ‘ machine is blocked’. 😕
All hoses, filter and pump fine. The drum was seized due to bearing failure.
I was able to release the drum by hand without much effort and it spun quite freely although noisy.
When I set it to spin it revolved both ways for a couple of minutes then flashed up F2 again.
The drum was still quite free, are the electronics sensitive enough to detect worn bearings or has the PCB been damaged?
Already referred him back to the Indesit Company for his free parts.

The only thing I can think of is if the drum jammed and the motor has been pulling a slightly higher current then it has knacked the module.

Thanks for that, I did suspect that may be the case, oh well, he will get his £90 worth. 😉
The scrolling error message is a bit confusing to say the least. 🙂

Jim,
generally when you receive F02 and drum isn’t jammed than surely you have somewhere schort circuit between motor wires or at least one of motor relays is out of order. change them on PCB…March 4, 2008 at 10:10 am #244795iadom

Thanks for that info Adrian, useful for future reference, however as this machine needs a complete outer drum as well as any PCB faults he will be getting it repaired for labour only.
