Participantwent out to fit a new door seal to a cust 15mth old wmd962, only to realise theyve mistaken the drain hole for a leaky hole. however, the clever people failed to mention that comets own engineers have been out to look at it under their 3year care plan, and written the tub off due to key/coin damage.
after pressing further it seems their engineer wasnt there for more than 15 mins, and after taking the lid off and looking under it said it was a user fault. anyways after having a peak, it looks more like one of the weight supports has snapped off the tub, but i cant be sure without getting the whole tub out. before i waste any more time on it, i wanted to find out if anyone else has had this problem as cust is adamant she checks every single pocket and theres no way a coin or key could have made a hole in it…

Can’t you just unhook a drum paddle and then take a look at it from the inside? 😕

Drum weights coming loose and ripping clean off on these is not that uncommon. 😥
Its a sealed tub, non removable front panel job, not much to see through the lifters on these sadly.
It should be easy to see with the machine tilted back with the door seal furled back though.

Slightly off topic 😳
Never seen one of these beasts but I have to comment that they don’t look the least bit ‘serviceable’. Sealed drum probs and module probs render it an instant scrapper. All big capacity machines like this(in this case 8kg) are bought by customers that just chuck a whole weeks unsorted washing in without batting an eye. So a whole pocketful of coins, hairgrips and bra wires either bu&&er up the drum or jam the filter so you can’t open it.
Checking out the ‘ customer reviews’ on various websites will prove conclusively that these machines are total junk with a price tag in excess of £300. Anyone that buys one was probably only born yesterday!

hmm well this customer is like a house-sitter/maid/cleaner etc, and does this posh houses washig in their wetroom. shes the only one who does her washing in her home and swears that the only thing entered her machine are clothes as shes the only one with enough gumption to use the thing. i kinda believe her, shes not the thickest plank out there, and yeh, rolled the gasket out, not wetness from on top, but its dribling out from behind the weight, not been able to get a torx bit in there with the front not coming off, to loosen front weight. spoke to hp who were helpful, and agreed to wrire a written engineers report for cust to take up with comet to claim hps callout back, should there be no foreign objects or “inside-to-outside” drum damage
