    Hi,

I have read the recommendation to use Ariel tablets after becoming tired of white spots on my clothing from other tablets which don’t dissolve properly.

I avoid powder because of the dust (three asthmatic children) and I avoid liquid for the reasons stated on this site (it ruined our old machine). So, tablets are the best option for us.

I now have some Ariel actilift, but Ariel apparently discontinued the colour tablets in January 2015. On the box of Actilift (green box), it says they are suitable for whites and colours, but I thought products suitable for whites contained bleach which will fade coloured fabrics, so i don’t see how they can be suitable for coloured clothing.

Any further advice on the best products to use in light of this would be greatly appreciated. I hope I haven’t missed something already on your website.

    Many thanks for your help.

If it’s the liquid tabs then there’s no bleach in them and are okay for coloured items but they do have optical brighteners in them.

If it’s solid tabs I’d need to know exactly what ones they were to look it up.

    Hi,
It’s the compressed powder tablets, Ariel Actilift, in the green box.
    Many thanks.

If it’s in a green tub and isn’t liquid then it *should* have bleach in it so, no good for colours.

And, so far as I can tell as they don’t appear on Ariel’s website that I can find at least, they do indeed contain oxo-bleach so I wouldn’t use them on colours. I’ve a feeling that they may be discontinued.

    Re: Ariel colour washing products

I found some Persil colour tablets which seem to dissolve very well. So I use these for my colours. Time will tell if they actually work.

I use Persil Bio Tablets or Ariel Actilift for whites, and I’ve not encountered any problems with either of them.

I’m having to buy Persil from Amazon though, as Tesco don’t stock anything other than the Ariel Actilift.

    Many thanks.
