ParticipantGreat website, used your forum to locate fault with my 3 year old machine. The machine had not been used for about 10 weeks, and suddenly developed an intermitent fault. The machine would stop during the washing cycle with the program dial clicking round continuously. Found out via the forum that this indicated a fault and the fault code indication.
Anway, the power on LED was flashing 10 times with a short pause, in a constant cycle. Previous messages on the forum informed me that this was related to a pressure switch fault. Tested the pressure switch, but seemed OK. So went looking for a blockage, split pipe even though had check this already.
Decided to remove pump to get a good look, and found the smaller inlet hole blocked with hardened soap. Cleaned the pump thoroughly and machine has worked fine ever since. touch wood. I assume that this third inlet pipe is something to do with sensing the water level, as it is taken from the side of the washing drum?
Thanks 😀

😥 Just when you think you’ve fixed it…after 5 washes the fault comes back again !!!
Could anyone confirm what fault is associated with 10 flashes on an Ariston A1324UK washer? I think its a pressure sensor? If so, is this the circular one located just under the top cover.

Correct, however there is more than one pressure switch fitted to this machine, we would need the full serial number to determine the exact part required.
As a note of caution, the fault codes on these Indesit/Ariston machines can be ambiguous to say the least, however a pressure switch is not too expensive so well worth a try.
Please be sure to remove the mains plug at all times when you have your hands inside the patient.May 11, 2006 at 10:40 pm #175938cdm185

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
Serial No. of machine is 212037293 * 80280680000.
Existing switch seems to operate when pressurised. May be the contacts have tarnised due to it not being used for several weeks.
Think I will buy a new switch anyway, I’ve seen similiar one on website for about £20. I’ve looked through the UK whitegoods spares shop and they don’t seem to have one.
Thanks
🙂

The part you need is a C0008660. Send an e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and it will be sorted for you. The site charging £20.00 was a rip off, and you would have no doubt got the wrong part.

OK I’m back again.
I am still getting an intermittent fault, which only seems to occur when I set the machine to come on at night…
So far I have:
1. Checked and cleaned filter at front of machine – OK
2. Checked pipe to pressure switch is clear – OK
3. Renewed pressure switch – not sure it was faulty
4. Renewed the heater element – the old part was low resistance to earth
5. Checked comm and brushes on motor – OK
6. Insulation tested the motor – OK
7. I have checked the control module as best I can and it appears to be OKThe intermittent fault is as before, program is aborted the dial start clicking and I get 10 flashing lights. The program always aborts during the wash cycle, and before the rinse cycle is reached.
Any ideas would be appreciated 😕
When I was checking the motor I took off the speed sensor attached to the non comm end of the machine. Not much too see because its a sealed unit, but there are strips of metal embeded into the plastic housing around the circumference – but they are not even. It looks like the housing has been worn away to reveal these, in fact in one area there is a small hole. Does anyone know if this is what it can be like, could this be the problem? Can these be purchased seperatley to the motor?
Thanks

Lateral thinking here – if the magnet in the centre of the tacho coil housing is loose, it can wear the casing as described. The magnet is iron impregnated plastic, so can melt if the rear bearing is running roughly, or works loose on it’s retainer. The fault code could be generated by the magnet failing to revolve – as a consequence, the motor will kick briefly into spin and the centrifugal effect trip the flood protection level on the pressure switch. Depending on how the computer reacts, this could give the F10 fault.
Beyond the carbon brushes and holders, there are no individual components for the motor available, so a replacement would have to be sourced. Expensive and debatable value for money.
Power off, if fondling your tacho 😯 .
