ParticipantHi,
After about 15 mins into the wash cycle, my washing machine (Ariston A1436) has started to throw the following error code, which I am unable to understand:
Rapid flashing of the ON-OFF/DOOR LOCK LED together with the flashing of the Delay Timer LED.
The error code comes up at about 15 mins into the wash cycle. The drum seems to be spinning fine, and water seems to be coming in and draining out as well. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

You need to give us the slow flashing light by number from top down please.

It is the top one (2h) Delay timer LED.

Bad news I’m afraid, fault code is F08 or as it used to be known, the 8 flash code.
If you do a search of this forum using “Indesit 8 flashes” you will get some idea of your problem. Could be loose connections but is more than likely a main pcb failure. 😥

Thanks iadom!
Dare I ask, so is it a matter of replacing the main PCB or could it be some other issue?
The warning lights come after 15 mins, after the first draining of the drum. I did check for blockages at the pump, and everything seemed fine, the out also looked clear with no blockages.
Or just fork out for a new one:(?
Thanks!

If you do read a few of those threads you will see that F08 is ‘supposed’ to be a heater relay fault but in essence can be just about anything and everything, loose connections, pressure switch, main pcb, change in the wind direction etc. A real PITA of a problem to fix. 😥

Thanks again for the help:)! The Ariston has served well for nearly 10 years so, maybe it is time to get a new one;)!

Your machine is actually a Hotpoint cabinet, main drum, motor, pump setup. The only thing in it that is Indesit is the facia and all the electronics, may also have the cheaper Indesit bearings in it as well.
Wouldn’t advise another Ariston/Hotpoint/Indesit. 😉
