    Hi,

First post, so please be kind!

My Ariston A1436 has developed a couple of noises. When the drum rotates anti-clockwise, it makes a little rasping noise. No resistance, and is fine turning clockwise.

It’s on right now, using the trusty delay timer, with a heavy cotton bedspread/throw in it, which has been washed in this machine hundreds of times over several years. The machine is making an intermittent clanking noise and shifting a small distance out of its slot under the counter. 😯

If anyone can help me identify what’s causing these two noises, and give me instructions about how to fix them, I’d be grateful.

    Thanks!

With most noises it is actually better to hear them.

Virtually impossible to do anything other than guess the cause.

It could be worn suspension units, broken support springs, broken drum support spider, a foreign body inside the drum etc.

TBH an examination by an engineer is your best option.
