Well I have never heard of this before but I have just done a half load and when I took the bed sheet out it was all creased and burnt in one area 👿 has anyone ever heard of this happening before? could it have got caught somewhere?

Possibly caught between the door seal and drum front lip, chek the rubber for signs of damage.

The other possible is the heater came on with no water in the drum which would require attention by an engineer before using again.

the rubber is fine but the sheet does look like it was caught somewhere and I must admit I did nearly shut the cats tail in the door at the same time 😯

If it was caught though wouldnt it just tear rather than burn?

If caught it would burn and not tear. Careless loading or more likely overloading is the usual reason for this 😉

:lesson: After filling the drum with clothes, place an opened hand in a vertical orientation. With the tip of your little finger on the top of the load and the tip of your thumb to the top of the drum; this is a good guide to correct loading of your appliance.

ok done my first wash since the dreaded munching and now the drum is making one hell of a rattle when it spins. Took clothes out and spun it with my hand and its fine – just seems to be when its spinning on a programme. What is it with this machine from hell?

By the last post could the “burn” be an oil mark??

Re: Ariston A1535 burnt my clothes!!!

How can I put it to you gently? Flick back through this forum and there are countless posts relating to Ariston 2000, A series and Indesit W series machines (they are all the same basic appliance). This suggests that the machines are problematic to say the very least.

Noises on spin – things trapped between the drums, heater broken off bracket, drum support arm failed, bearings failing, concrete weight (front or top) coming away, suspension leg broken/failed/ripped through floor fof chassis, inner drum burst – shall I continue? Trouble is any and all of these are common failings on a machine which is cost engineered down to the fraction of a penny. The 1500 spin is also totally excessive – it gains very little in terms of drying (there is no actual need to exceed 1200), but the already marginal components get pounded that much harder. And fail faster.

If you want to persevere with this one, it’s probably time for pro help – click the link below for a repairer in your area.

If you’re giving up, the Bosch 1200 is generally available for under £300 and is a very adequate machine. Failing that hang on a month and the very splendid ISE machine will be available from this very site.
