Ariston A1535 stuck on program, wont advance,

Ariston A1535 stuck on program, wont advance, when moved manually returns to the program I started it on.

Firstly the fault was that the was had not spun, so I emptied the the filter at the bottom of the machine to find a number of coins! The water supply is working and the Machine was turning, but not now.

Also no error lights noted as yet!

Any help appreciated guys. Thanks in advance. Shaun.

Just moved dial to spin to get 3 very quick flashes then both lights stayed on…….dunno if this adds anything usefull?

If you move the control in the middle of a programme the dial will click right round to its original setting. You have to turn the control knob to one of the Off/Reset positions, wait for the mains neon to flash, switch off, then you can set the control to a different setting.

Do this then set it to a programme and make a note of which neons are coming on by number from left to right when, or if it fails to work.

OK guys, think I have found the problem! After tapping the brushes on the motor the machine started moving again!!!

Guess that means brushes or armature wear.

Change the brushes ASAP, arcing brushes can sometimes damage the main PCB if you keep trying to run the motor.
