    Hi All,

I have an 18 month old Ariston A1636 which has developed a fault where it stops when it is time to drain. I have spent a couple of days searching the forum and trying out what previous suggestions have been given but still no good.

Lights flashing are 2 + 4 (1 being top/4 bottom) when fail take place.

I have checked the filter at point where water exits the drum and there were a few coins present which have been removed. Checked all other tubes/components relevant to drain and pump but nothing is obviously out of the ordinary – no kinks etc.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

2+4 – pressure switch reading full after the time allowed.

Have you actually pulled the pump and inspected inside the chamber? Objects do get through the filter. If the machine is coupled to a sink spigot check that as well.

    Thanks Penguin.

It does appear to be the pump was blocked. A piece of plastic had passed the filter and was sitting inside the pump.

    Thanks for your help.
