ParticipantDear All,
It appears that our washing machine is leaking water, having placed a sheet of newspaper under the front of the machine, it appears that the water appears during the spin cycle, and only at the front of the machine, it’s almost like it’s being spun out of the door seal ?
Any pointers gratefully received.
Thanks
Stuart

Possibly quite correct. Check round the top of the door seal for holes.

This is often caused by partly blocked sump hose, this Hotpoint based machine has a decent door seal that is not prone to leaking at an early age.

Hi,
Can you give me some pointers on where to look please ?
I’m happy to investigate further, obviously, power off before cover off.
Cheers

And the sump hose is found where ? Is it simply the once coming out of the machine, at the rear, or is it internal.

The SEARCH facility is a wonderful tool if you use it. 😉

Dear All,
Managed to get away from work early. Screwdriver at the ready, I set about the task of gaining access to the sump.
Where I found , 2 socks wrapped round the ball in the plastic cage, several parts of zippers, and numerous buttons.
Re-assembled, and did a leak test with a rinse and spin, no water on the floor.
See how it fairs with a load of washing.
Thanks to one and all. Should keep the cats happy who share the utility room with the washer, and were getting a bit sick of damp paws.
Cheers

Its a good idea to use a ‘washbag’ for the very small items, also try to avoid overloading if you know you have such items in the wash load.
Glad you sorted it, sorry about the ‘Search’ post, can’t make it to easy for you though, can we 😉 8)
Jim.
