I’m having problems with our Ariston A1636S washer, it starts to go through the cycles OK but just before the spin the DELAY and POWER light flash rapidly then nothing! It takes about 5 mins before you can switch the machine off and open the door.

I have cleared a blockage in the filter and drain hose but still getting this error. Does anyone know what this error is as I’m unable to find the fault codes anywhere on the Internet?

    HI,

Its the top light (delay) and the door lock light which flash rapidly just before going into a full spin. The drum turns OK for the wash but will not spin.

Hi, I’m not sure if the door light would be classed as 1 or 5. You have 4 lights doing downwards (delay is the top light which is flashing – other 3 lights are off). Top right hand side is the door lock light which is also flashing so suppose it’s either:-

1 and 2 (if the door lock light is 1 and delay 2)

    or

1 and 5 (If the door lock light is 5)

The vertical lamps (only) indicate a fault code. Top one flashing indicates fault 8. This is nominally a heater relay fault on the main pcb. It generally means an actual board failure, requiring replacement of the pcb and it’s eeprom. Nasty…..

May be worth checking connections and cabling to the heater, temperature sensor and into the pcb itself but I wouldn’t hold out a lot of hope.

The electronics on these are a shocker.

Power off if you are going to go in.
