ParticipantOK, ive replaced the Board yet still have the exact same problem – lol
So, either:
The replacement board has the same fault.. unlikely?
The temperature sensor is faulty.
If it is the Temperature sensor, how much would this cost to fix and how difficult a job is it?
Im determined to fix this myself.
Many Thanks.

Best of luck, there is only one cast iron, dead certain way to fix any Indesit made appliance.

The machine you have is actually based on a Hotpoint machine with Indesit electronics. :rolls:
The NTC ( temp sensor) on these is located in the heating element, pushed into the backplate of the heater and attached to two very thin blue wires.
It is not that prone to failure itself but the wiring and terminal contacts are very poor.
AFAIK the NTC is not available as a separate item, it comes with the heater complete.

ParticipantWhich would mean im shafted?
So, would the £100 Ariston fix be worth it then?

If you have already replaced the pcb, no it isn’t.
So – go and buy a basic test meter. It’ll cost you about a tenner. Remove plug from mains and NTC sensor, use the probes to perform a resistance test. You should get a reading in kOhms. Replace plug in NTC, remove matching plug on pcb, and measure from that end – you should get a very similar reading.
Unfortunately, throwing parts at an appliance until it works is an expensive and inefficient way of achieving a repair.

So what is looking to be the most likely fault at the moment and what would the fix be?
Where is the plug for the NTC sensor?
Yes, this is new to me but am prepared to do what I can. You learn by trying right.

As mentioned before, the ntc sensor is mounted in the heating element in the back of the drum. It should have two skinny blue wires running away from it to the pcb.

If you are local to EMW they may be willing to come out to fix your machine. Worth a phone call, anyway.
