ParticipantHi cahps. I’m looking for some advice on this Aristopn machine. The problem being it is a friend of mine over in Belfast. Apparently he had problems with the spin speed knob coming off, so he has now put it back on but the machine will still apparently only do a 400 approx spin. It makes no difference if he turns the spin speed up to 1600 it stays constant at the slow spin. I have told him to check the obvious like the carbon brushes, pressure swith etc, and the small connector that connects the two boards but it appears to still do the same slow spin. I was wondering if anyone had come accross a similar problem? I’m suspecting its probably the dreaded board, but obviously dont want to send one over if anyone has any better ideas.
Many Thanks
Andy Stu

Could the potentiometer knob be knack’d and not moving the spindle?

Hi Mike, thanks for your input. I suppose it certainly a possibility espescially with it atleast doing a slow spin. I’ve asked him to check the Pot, and he says it certainly moves through each stage, not sure exactly how the pots work on these, does it change resistance or make different contacts.

Just send him a new knob to try anyway.
If the knob was falling off, it’s the obvious. You’d be amazed how dumb your own respected friends can be when it comes to looking at their own machines.
