ariston a1637 – door locked

Hi – would appreciate help with this. My machine has locked and will not unlock. I’ve searched on here & it seems that the order of flashing lights give an error code.

The lights flashing on mine are the right hand column – buttons 2 & 4 if counting from the top

Has anyone any thoughts on what the problem may be?

2+4 are showing pressure switch stuck on full. most likely due to pump or sump filter blockage. Can you see any water in the drum?

If you are lucky you may be able to manually drain the machine by lowering the grey plastic outlet pipe into a low bowl. Then you will need to examine the drain pump and large black sump hose that goers from the drum to the pump. Be sure to remove the mains plug before proceeding.

Thank you so much for your prompt response – it looks like there was an issue with the pump as one of my daughter’s hair clips had got stuck in there 😮 while the machine was out we put it on the drain function and it worked.
Now though we’ve put it to run through a short wash again and it’s stopped part way through with the same lights flashing.
Is there anything else we should try?

Something else blocked in it, did you remove the black rubber hose from the drum and inspect the filter which sits inside it?

Hiya – yes there was another blockage- found it and it’s working fine now. Thanks again 🙂
