Ariston A2080 Dishwasher fails to complete wash cycle

Hi,

I have an Ariston, or is it a Merloni, A2080 dishwasher that has recently started to refuse to complete a wash cycle. It doesn’t do it every time, but mostly. It seems to stop after part of a wash with the dirty water in the bottom (covering the heater element); my wife then gets frustrated and puts it back on for another couple of cycles in the hope that it will complete. Eventually it has to be put on rinse until the sump empties then we can remove the dirty dishes. I have had the discharge pump hose off and that is clear, as is the drain hose etc. I have tried in vain to locate a service manual so can anyone offer any advice please? 😕

I’d check the wiring at the bottom of the door as a starting point – broken/cracked wiring can cause some interesting problems.

Is the water hot when it stops? If no, possible faulty heater. If yes, thermostat or timer problems aer possible.

Power off if you intend to do this yourself.
