Christmas problems…. My dishwasher starts for about 10 secs, then the initial rinse light (1st one on the left as you look at it) starts to flash and the pump noise (I think that is what it is) stops. It has happened before and after leaving it for a few days it corrects itself for a few more weeks. Any ideas?

Possible overflow into base. Pull the machine forwards, place a few towels on the floor then tilt it back or to the side. If you get water running out from underneath this confirms an overflow or leak. Using 3 in 1 or 4 in 1 tablets can cause this. Fairy Active Bursts with salt if your water is on the hard side should help. You may also have an internal leak, if the fault returns fairly quickly this needs investigating and repairing.
