ParticipantHi,
I am a newbie to the forum.
Seem to be getting a ‘similar’ fault to Andrew Teague’s Smeg DWI 710 posted Fri Aug 06, 2004 8:22 pm.
Basically I get a AO1 error when when trying to start the dishwasher. Called the Ariston helpline and managed to get some info out of them.
The error is as per the Smeg one in that it apparenlty means “The machine has timed out on draining …The Aquastop has been operated due to a leak or overfilling”
I have checked for leaks and blockages but there aren’t any – so assume some switch or other has been tripped ??
The guy on the phone couldn’t give me any resolution to the prob – so i’m hoping someone here can assist ?
Thanks in advance

Turn the power and water off, disconnect the water hose from the rear of the dishwasher, reconnect the water hose, turn on the water and power again. This should reset the aquastop.

Hi Again
Thanks for the info – followed your advice but doesn’t seem to work 🙁
The machine was already powered down – unplugged it earlier today. So only had to disconnect/reconnect water and power up
Still getting error
Any other ideas ?
Tx.

The error A01 on an Ariston is not the same as the Smeg, it’s very rare that two manufacturers will use the same error code that indicates a similar symptom.
A01 on yours means that the aqauastop has operated only, nothing to do with fill time out (it won’t fill at all once the aquastop has activated, so it is correct in one way ;)).
You possibly have a leak that has filled the base with water, lean the machine forward or backward and see if any water spills from underneath, if it does, there’s your problem, although, the leak will have to be detected and rectified of course.

Fault now fixed and dishwasher working fine – Thanks very much for your
assistance 😀The base of the machine was full of water. After removing the
bottom I now understand how it works and was particularly impressed with the ‘hi-tech’ aquastop 😉….A small polystyrene float which actuates a switch !
Is the idea behind this so that if your machine gets blocked or leaks, it cuts out to save further damage to the machine or dumping loads of water on your floor ?
Also is there some sort of pressure switch that( in the event of a
blockage )causes water to be discharged into the bottom of the machine
via the open-ended black hose attached to the pump??I’m assuming ours had a temp blockage as I had it running last night and it doesn’t leak.
Cheers.

No problem.
Arist-off wrote:A small polystyrene float which actuates a switch !
That’s quite the norm for dishwasher flood protection.

Yes.

Is it the same model as the original poster’s kindi ?
It sould as if the door latch mechanism has jammed or broken, either way you’ll need an engineer to sort this out for you.
Please post your postcode or check the directories for an engineer near you.
By the way, I deleted the other two duplicated posts 😉
