Joy of joys – My dishwasher is playing up again 👿

Can anyone please advise what this error message means and more importantly how can I rectify it ?

Our Microwave gave up the ghost a month ago, the Ariston washing machine just threw in the towel and now it seems like the dishwasher want to follow suit….never knew appliances had lemming-esque tendencies.

Thanks in advance for your help /advice

Heater and/or associated circuits. Thoroughly nasty machine to work on – are you quite sure you want to go in?

    Power off, if you do…….

    Hi Thanks for your reply,

Not really meant to be a daft question – but based on your experience/ knowledge…….

This is a 4 yr old machine do you think it’s worth fixing and what would I need to do to diagnose the faults? My friend is an very competant electrical & maintenance engineer so I woulg get him to test ‘whatever’.
Just need to know if there are obvious thing to look for

Is it relatively easy to test with a meter or is likely to be a duff circuit board/PCB ? I gather these ain’t cheap??

Appreciate I’m asking the proverbial $64,000 question, but am just trying to ascertain whether it worth getting involved? or just buy something new ?

After my recent experiences with Ariston, i’m never buying them again – cos they are obviousy utter sh*te now – used to be good in days gone by. Very dissapointing

OK – it’s an Indesit with a badge on the front, so, (no offence intended) this is a budget appliance. The prime suspect is the heating element – they do drop like flies, but the root cause is the ultra-sensitive water level control system, which will under- or over- fill as the whimsy takes it. Not a lot you can do about it beyond identifying low froth detergents (Fairy bursts are good for this), which will ease the water level problems.

Ariston used to be an adequate low/mid range brand – as part of the Indesit Company, things are falling. There is a noticable sense of outrage from Hotpoint and Creda owners going through a similar process to you as standards deteriorate.

Your alternative option is to consider replacement. Bosch is a popular and “better than most” option these days – not that expensive, 2 year warranty is popular. Zanussi’s OK, Whirlpool’s OK – the bees knees is Miele – expensive, but I won’t hear from you again 😀 .

Stay safe if investigating this one – power off.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.

    Hi

Thanks for your reply – I can see me going for the replacement route as I did with the washing machine and in that case went for Bosch. Will do same for the dishwasher.

Maybe after this debacle i’ll be able to change my name from arist-off !!

    Dave,

Thanks for the info – I will discuss with my better half and take things from there. At that price might be worth fixing the old squib yet !

    Rgds
