    So to sum up, the washer would stall at two points and need advancing by hand, and the wash would be poor because the water wasn’t being heated.
    the element was ok, the thrmostats were ok. the problem was the Copreci mechanical timer was sticking or having a poor contact on the heater circuit. this was cured by spraying and rotating as above. The machine runs the full cycle now because the water is heated.

    The search is great when you know what to look for Greg. After checking out the thermostats I was looking to buy a new timer, and came across the name Copreci, which I then tried in the search, and if iandms hadn’t mistakenly thought his timer was a Copreci…
    Anyway the wife’s dead chuffed:
