Participanthi all.i know this is a bit cheeky as its my first post on the site. i really need help with our ariston as100. today i turned the dishwasher on , over 2 hours later i noticed that the dial had stopped……i can hear a pump going all the time…………
so thinking that the dial might have been stuck i clicked it forwards.but the pump still remained on….. infact you can turn the dial all the way around and the pump stays on…. also the dishwasher is very dry inside so i would guess that it stopped it cycle before the main wash but after the rinse,,,,…… what would make the pump run all the time??
can anyone help as its a brilliant dishwasher and i dont want to loose it if i dont have to…..many thanks in advanceden

The flood protection is activated – it will over-ride any timer setting. Drain the undertray and the system will re-set. However, if you don’t find the leak, it’ll trip again……..
Power off, before going inside.

Lean the dishwasher to one side and get some towels ready 😀
If it happens again there’s an underlying cause (leak as mentioned) that will need checking out.

Denviks.
I only know this because my as 100 has a fault that I have yet to cure. It does sound like the flood protection as activated. This is just a polystyrene float in a depression on the very bottom of the machine- the metal tray just above the floor. When water collects in this depression, it lifts the float, which clicks a micro switch.
To get the float to drop, you need to empty out this water, by leaning the machine to one side, the water will be on the floor and the switch will re-set.
If it doesn’t the float may have jammed- mine was covered with brown gunk. Cleaning this should sort it.Don’t forget though that the water has leaked from somewhere in the machine. An unusual circumstance may have caused it to collect there this time, and the problem may not occur. If it does, you need to find the leak.
You must disconnect from power, but you don’t need to disconnect the hose or outlet – these contain water that hasn’t leaked – it’s still in the system. You are emptying water that has leaked into the inside of the dishwasher.
If it makes it easier, you can disconnect them.
Hope this is some use.
They’re brilliant when they’re working
