ParticipantHello to all
6 year old washing machine.
The problem started 6 to 7 months ago.
After pressing the power button, all lights on the panel started flashing for abt 15 seconds (instead of one or two secs) and then they stopped. The power button light stayed on and I proceeded with the wash as always.3 months ago when pressing the power button all lights flashed nonstop and wouldn’t stop. I am 98{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure they were flashing continuously without intermittence. I unplugged the machine from the wall socket and after several tries I discovered that I could make the power button stay on by itself if I held the power button and then plugged the outlet in the wall.! I must have done 2 dozens of washes by starting the machine this way.
Once the power indicator light stayed on by itself, the machine always worked fine.Today I tried again, but the trick did not work. The lights flash nonstop.
A few details:
When the problem firstly appeared all the lights used to flash. Now only 5 or 6 flash.
The last 3 or 4 washes during the wash cycle every time the cylinder turned the lights would blink. Not during the rinsing cycles.
Your help is appreciated.
Thank you for your time.November 24, 2014 at 5:31 pm #421907iadom

A well known problem on all Indesit machines. There is faulty capacitor on the main circuit board. Depends how good you are with a soldering iron but should be an easy and fairly inexpensive fix for a decent local engineer as well.

The circuit board is down at the back behind a small panel, you just have to make a very careful note of where all the connectors go.

YOU ARE A SAINT.
There were 2 capacitors showing on top leak/rust. I took the CP to my electronics guy and had them replaced.
As we speak I am doing a wash!
Thank you so much for your help.
