ARISTON AWD 12S Fault code 8

Hi sorry to bore you all but its the old Ariston problem, washer starts cycle and takes on water then the valve closes and the water is pumped out, dial clicks around and the light flashes on slowly 8 times. I think the washer is around 4 years old, is it worth repairing (how much will it cost) or do i chuck it and buy a new one ?? Cheers…..Adam 😉

F-08 = heater relay fault this is part of the main PCB, if it is only 4 years old you have a free parts warranty with Indesit might be worth calling them.

thanks for the info, there are 6 relays on the main pcb board, what number is it and where can they be bought…..RS trade ???

Bear in mind that F8 is nominally the relay fault. Heater and wiring problems can also give the fault. The relay can be faulty, I have found the driver circuit to be faulty, more often than not.

RS, Maplins and the like stock suitable replacement relays – follow the live feed back from the connector to work out which one’s which – unplugged, obviously.
