Hi, I wondered if anyone could help me.

I have possibly the worst washer/dryer in the world an Ariston AWD12.

The machine failed thirteen months after we purchased it and Indesit wanted to charge me £90.00 to fix it. When they did fix (and agreed to only charge £50) it they took six months to sort it coming back and forth with wrong parts and trying all sorts of things.

The machine has failed again, only three months after they finally fixed it, I’ve check out the fault and the concrete stabiliser frame across the back of the drum has shattered causing the drum to shake violently and pull at the controller board, now the machine will not even power on.

I would like to know can anyone tell me the code for the concrete stabiliser frame across the back of the drum and a price for that and the controller board (215007396.01 3003 SW 2.22). I’m a service engineer for computer hardware and other technical items so I know what I’m doing.

    Thanks

    Jon

    Re: Ariston AWD12

Need exact model number ie; WD12SUK or WD12UK, also full serial number there are different control modules for these machines. You would still be better of getting back to Indesit and complaining. The cost of the parts you may require is more than Indesits labour charge, which is all 😥 you will have to pay.

Control modules for these machines vary from £73 to £102 approx, and that is without the EEPROM.

Part number is C00093158, around £73/£75, that is without the EEPROM which is approx £18/£20.

Not sure which concrete counterbalance weight you mean . I can see one on the top of the drum, and one that goes around the door seal at the front of the drum ???

    Hi,
Thanks for the prices, it’s the stabiliser frame across the back of the drum on the top, underneath the concrete block. I’ve just spoken with Indesit they will not provide the parts for me to fit, only will provided them for free if I pay £90 for them to fit them.

Diagram shows two plates across top of drum,
    Front support C00080650
    Rear support C00080651

Unfortunately the manufacturers warranty quite clearly states that the parts must be fitted by their own authorised personnel, for several very good reasons., legal and financial. 😉

How would they know that a member of the public had correctly diagnosed the fault, it would not make sense to issue parts free on that basis.

The cost of the parts you require would be around the same as the labour charge.

    Thanks for your help.

Going to try to get them to do it for half price as the unit is still only 17 months old and due to the four months it took to repair the other problems, techincally it’s only been used for 14 months
