ParticipantHi, the bearings appear to have given up on my machine as it is very noisy on spin. I have taken the back cover off to have a look and am thinking about changing them myself with the bearing replacement kit.
How difficult is this likely to be? Is it a case of unscrewing the torx screw that passes through the drum pully and they should slide out relativley easily?
Any tips relevant to this machine appreciated.[/img]

It would be advisable to try and get the bearing spider off and remove the old bearings first. At the same time check the drum shaft for wear or obvious damage.
If the drum shaft is scored or damaged in any way then take the machine to the place were many thousands of its Indesit made siblings are already residing. 😥
If you do manage to remove the bearings cleanly and have not lost too much blood in the process, 😉 Then you need to determine which type of bearing support and bearings you have. There are two types of bearing spider and different sized bearings and drum shaft.
All with the mains plug removed of course.

Hi, the bearing spider is the aluminium one not the Steel, so I would need the kit BKT74 ?

Even with an alloy spider there are two different drum shaft and bearing sizes, a 22mm drum shaft and a 26mm one.
Have you actually stripped it down yet ? I strongly advise you to do so before you order anytihng.

Its still better to try and get them out and examine the drum shaft first. :lesson:

But this is the PUBLIC FORUM. If they purchase parts that are not required then they are stuck with them, thats why the above advice was given. :rolls:
Strongly suggest you apply for trade access and give fellow trade members the benefit of your experience. 😉
