Well I thank you for your time and patience in helping me get to the bottom of the issue. I will have a look at the filter tommorow in a vain hope that this may be the magical cure.
If I were to replace it then what would you go for? I know it’s a piece of string issue but I’ve read that Indesit and Servis take a bashing and to some extent the new breed of Hotpoint. I’m tempted by something in the Bosch/Zannusi range but unfortunately it”ll have to be a washer dryer again I’m afraid 😥

The unfortunate truth is that the old “You gets what you pays for” adage has never been so true.
The best (by a country mile) is Miele. You can expect a 20 year service life, but, you pay……
The middle ground is Zanussi, Bosch and some of the Whirlpool stuff. Bosch comes with a 2 year warranty, which is nice.
Be wary of anything below the £350 mark.
That’s just my opinion, others may wish to add to that little list.
Anyway, I’m off for a :beer: or 4. Anything I post after midnight may well be gibberish.
