ParticipantHi,
The dryer function on my AWD12S is no longer working, it runs through the programme, the drum rotates but there is no heat and hence no drying. The washing cycles appear to be working but I have no way of telling if these are just running cold.
Clearly there is an issue with the heating element so being reasonably adept at these sorts of things I took the top off to check out what was wrong. Having identified only one heating element I assume that I have located the one used for drying as well as washing. However, I could not clearly identify the problem – as I see it, it could be any one or more of the following:
the heater element has burned out
the heater element is not receiving any electricity
the heater element is not receiving any electricity during drying cycles
the temperature sensor is not functioning properlyCan anyone help me identify which of these it is? Or could it be something else I’ve missed?
Having established the cause, does anyone know a good supplier of spares for this model?
I would very much appreciate any help that people can offer. :colour:

You haven’t identified one heater for both functions, by the sounds of it you’ve found the dryer heater element (if its the one up top in a aluminium casting sitting on top of the drum).
The most common reason for not drying is if the one shot stat or thermal fuse has gone open circuit (check for continuity thru this part, M/C UNPLUGGED)

Participantand if the thermal fuse has gone, find out why!! fan not working, condenser blocked etc, they dont blow for no reason generally

Thanks for your help guys, the heater element is indeed the dryer heater.

Where do I find this fuse? What does it look like?

It’s the cable with the extra insulation on the heater box.
