ParticipantHi All,
I have a AWD12S Washer/Dryer its about 6 years old now but up until now I have never had any problems and had always thought of it as a good machine, however the other day it finished its wash cycle then started the drying cycle, but about a minute into the dry cycle it stopped, the dial then started to click round, and when I turned it off to check my wash, it was drenched with water and the drum still had a lot of water in it.
Now I have done some research into this and found that I needed to count the flashes when the dial clicks round, so I did this and it does 5 flashes, now with that info, I looked again for a solution, I found that 5 flashes = pump blocked p/switch jammed on full.
So im quite good with fixing most things so I gave it a try at cleaning out the machine, first I drained it with undoing the pump filter, checked in there, it was empty (the rotor moved freely, however not smoothly, it kind of flicked round in quarter turns, I guess this was just the motors design as it felt like magnetic resistance), second took the top off the machine and removed the plastic airflow channel that goes from the heater fan to the drum and cleaned that out (was quite full of fluff), then took the waste pipe off from the pump and cleaned all that out too. While I did all that I checked the heater element was working, and also checked the fan worked too, these were both fine.
After all this I put the machine back together, and tried to do a dry cycle again, and it worked!! But unfortunately only for about 20 minutes, then it was back to the dial clicking round with 5 flashes again and everything soaking wet again too, also there did not look like there was anything in the filter where the pump is, have I missed something?
I was going to take the actual pump apart tonight to see if there was anything behind the rotor that may be jamming it? Also where is the p/switch for it? apparently that could be stuck on full? I maybe able to take that apart too and fix it?
Please any help on this is greatly appreciated, maybe there is something I have missed that you guys will know about…?
Thanks for reading,
Steve

Participantid take the drain hose out, put it in a bucket and put the machine on a spin.. does it empty? does the pump even run?
could well be a blockage somewhere other than the pump filter
the pressure switch is under the lid, on the right hand side
its unlikely to be that

yeh it is working, i can hear it running, also my waste pipe joins on to my sink drain pipe, so u can hear it very loudly draining when it is doing the normal wash.
its odd, because it does the normal wash fine, but it just wont dry?
ive also done the reset thing too, but that didnt work either…
