ParticipantI have an Ariston DOV317, 6 years old now. In spite if it being regularly cleaned, it is producing increasingly stronger cooking odours when being used, for example when preheating and empty.
Are there internal filters or parts that might be getting clogged which could be removed for cleaning/replacement with this oven?
A technical document on the internals would be appreciated.

KeymasterDon’t suppose that that it has catalytic liners does it?
What sort of technical documents? Even we don’t usually get any beyond a basic parts list.

Thanks for your reply.
I don’t know if it has catalytic liners. I am looking for a document which would answer this type of question: if it gave a list and diagram of internal parts, that would be most useful.

KeymasterAll Indesit Group product information is on a proprietary disc for information and it’s nigh on impossible to pull it off I’m afraid. 😕
If there are catalytic liners on either side they will be rough to the touch and not smooth as well as removable usually, either hooked or screwed into place. I suspect that they are fitted and that they’ve gotten cleaning product on them, which ruins them and they cannot be repaired or put right, you can only replace them and they ain’t cheap.

Thanks again.
No, they aren’t catalytic liners – I’ve checked. This is a much lower spec oven. I suspect that’s the problem – it’s simply poor quality.
Nevertheless, if you have any suggestions I’m all ears.

KeymasterNot really, there’s nothing in any oven that can cause any sort of malodour unless you apply some seriously extreme heat and burn it. Asides from that it is virtually always, like 99.9999{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time, something that has been spilled or used to clean that causes it.
All I can suggest is a good clean and see what happens. Pay attention to the roof, especially above the grill element if there is one in it.

Kwatt, thanks for your advice again. I’ll give that a try.
