Ariston Freezer S/KVF1200

Hope you can help……I have an Ariston Freezer (model above) which is installed side by side with the fridge under the kitchen worktop. A red indicator light (next to the on/off switch) is showing red. This red light goes on and off intermittently. The freezer is quite heavily iced which may indicate it needs defrosted but appears to be working okay. However, it also seems to be tripping the switch in my fuse box at the moment. Any ideas?! Thanks very much.

It could be a number of things, perhaps a fault with the motor (compressor) due to overheating. First thing you must do is completely defrost the appliance and take if from there, post back what you then get.

Thanks for replying – I have defrosted the freezer, switched it back on and the red light is still showing. I can hear the compressor (well, I think it’s the compressor!) kick in but the light doesn’t go off. I didn’t leave it on long enough this morning to check whether it’s still tripping the fuse but I suspect that there’s still a problem as the red light is still on. Any further ideas?
